Paed Tidt 8 Directional Yant
Paed Tidt 8 directional Yant is a very interesting Sak Yant Thai tattoo. Many people like this one. It has been done thousands of times at Bangkok Ink and at our masters Sam Nak’s. I have been told that it is for travelling many times by different experts. You will be welcomed and protected by this yant who bear it on the body when travelling. So people think this is a travelling tattoo which is explained like this, because of the 8 directions like a compass. So many sites explain it as so.
When we talk of what westerners think, this is a travelling tattoo, our masters looked at us, a bit confused. But like always if it makes people happy then that is ok by them. There is always things lost in translation. Sabai, Sabai, which means what every happen or it is ok, just let it be. If you think about this Thai people have never been travelling people, only recent due to financial reasons. So why would they have a tattoo yant for travelling.
This is how I have had this explained to me by a good translator who has spoken to Ajarn Bpom, Ajarn Ohr and Ajarn Noo. The yant is not for travelling but is for pulling in good luck and protection from all 8 directions and yes it is good when travelling as all yants are. This is a excellent tattoo with powerful yants to help you in the future which is another form of travelling but has no compass directions. Do not limit your mind.
Unaalome. The circle at the bottom represents the life you live with the many earthly distractions we encounter in our daily lives. As long as you let these things control your life you will go around in circles. Get rid of these things and you will get on the ever increasing spiral. The more you do this the better your life will be. The spiral represents the head and spirals around the crown of the scalp until it reaches the top center point of the scalp. The straight line pointing upwards represents the straight path to Enlightenment without any wavering behavior that the Arahants have accomplished.
It is believed the better you get at cutting these negative influences out, you will get to enlightenment much faster.
There are rules which the Yant bearer should try and follow. These can vary from master to master. Nothing will happen badly if you stray from some of the rules. Try and keep to the rules and your life will be good. Below is a good example of these rules:
- Do not kill a person for pleasure.
- Do not steal for your own personal gain.
- Do not lie to harm others. We all tell white lies and there is a difference.
- Do not have sexual relations with another’s partner.
- Do not spit in the toilet. The toilet should be a clean place and not to keep it so, shows disrespect to oneself and others.
- Do not swear at or disrespect your parents in any way.
- Do not speak about people behind their back in a manner likely to cause harm.
- Do not over consume alcohol and become troublesome to others. Keep in control.
- Do not walk under female underwear. The reason for this is to avoid temptations and distractions that the opposite sex can bring. Monks themselves are not allowed to touch a woman’s skin for this very reason and when a monk tattoos a female, he will wear surgical gloves.
- Do not partake in evil deeds. Avoid all contact with such happenings whenever possible.
The Ha Taew Yant
is a powerful and good Yant for protection and as a bringer of happiness and prosperity. Below the meaning of the five lines or Mantra's - Kata's.If you would like to have this Yant, then you can also choose the lines [Mantras] that suit you and what you need. The Ha Taew can therefore also consist of a single mantra, three mantras or four mantras. Within the five mantras you can fill in your personal wishes if you wish. There are several versions of the Ha Taew. In addition to the "classic" version, there is also the more modern version and the Ha Taew by Ajarn Thoi [horizontal].Thai Tattoo is the only person in Europe who can write and interpret the symbols in the Yant. He received, among other things, the permission and blessings of the temple Wat Jangsirisamphan from Bangkok to do this. On the photos from left to right: Angelina Jolie, a special Ha Taew of Thai Tattoo with the unalomas in a Gao Yord form and on the right a traditional version by a Thai Tattoo customer. For example, if you want to process a sign of love for your family or family, we will make the translation to the Khom script [at no extra cost] so that the Ha Taew fits in perfectly with your personality and life.
